PROJECT SUMMARY
GST partnered with Orange Coast College to assist in maintaining and restoring the projection capabilities of the OCC Planetarium. The primary objective was to remove six high-end projectors, and reinstall the projectors post-servicing. The client required a highly coordinated effort to avoid multiple visits, manage fragile equipment, and ensure minimal disruption to the Planetarium’s ongoing use.
Key Tasks Included:
- Labeled and documented cabling and mounting positions, then safely removed six ceiling-mounted Sony projectors while preserving infrastructure and preventing damage.
- Packaged the projectors using GST-provided materials, labeled them by location, and coordinated a single-batch delivery to the manufacturer’s authorized service center to streamline logistics and minimize disruption.
- Reinstalled repaired projectors to original positions, then reconnected and verified all cabling to restore the system without altering AV settings.
Through the careful removal, coordination, and reinstallation of six high-performance projectors, GST helped restore the OCC Planetarium to its full immersive potential. As a space known for delivering captivating educational and visual experiences, the Planetarium is once again ready to engage students and visitors alike.
