PROJECT SUMMARY

The Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) is the third largest school district in California, serving several cities and educating more than 80,000 students. LBUSD consists of 85 schools, with students ranging from pre-K to 12 grade and contains one of the most diverse student body.  LBUSD is dedicated to ensuring its students receive the best possible instruction and education.

GST contributed to LBUSD’s mission “to support the personal and intellectual success of every student, every day” by assisting in the refreshing of the school’s Chromebooks. GST restored the LBUSD’s Chromebook supply by first receiving old Anywhere and Ergotron carts and removing old cable chargers and Chromebook units. Chromebooks taken from these carts were serialized and replaced with newly enrolled and etched Chromebooks. The carts were cable managed as well and delivered back to the schools. Old Chromebooks had OS reinstalled to remove user data on them before being distributed back to the schools. These repaired Chromebooks were then donated to the students.
