PROJECT SUMMARY
Los Angeles Valley College partnered with GST to enhance emergency communications throughout campus by installing five Talkaphone emergency call stations and connecting them directly to campus sheriff services. GST worked within the campus existing analog telephone infrastructure to create a shared communication pathway, handling everything from installation and system integration to programming and end-to-end testing. The result was a fully integrated emergency phone solution designed to provide dependable access to campus safety from multiple locations.
Key Tasks Included:
- Installed five Talkaphone ETP-120E emergency call stations with surface-mount hardware at the designated locations.
- Integrated a Talkaphone EC-6 six-port line consolidator, enabling the five emergency stations to utilize a shared analog telephone line while maintaining a centralized communication pathway.
- Extended the existing telephone service from the MPOE through the 66-block infrastructure, utilizing patch-panel connections and patch cabling to establish the required communication path to each emergency phone.
- Programmed each emergency station to dial the customer-provided campus sheriff number and performed functional testing to verify that calls successfully traveled through the complete infrastructure and reached campus safety personnel.
GST successfully delivered a fully integrated emergency communication solution, connecting five emergency call stations to campus safety through the existing analog telephone infrastructure. By consolidating multiple stations onto a shared line, extending connectivity through the facility, and validating each call end to end, GST was able to apply its infrastructure and integration expertise to specialized emergency communication systems where reliable connectivity is critical.
